Tier II Virtual Data Tools Workshop
Are you interested in learning more about the Tier II data tools? Are you the data analyst on your school’s behavior team? Register for the Tier II Virtual Data Tools Workshop and learn more about the Universal Behavior Screener, Student Risk Screening Scale-IE (SRSS-IE) TBSP Data Tool and the RTI2-B Progress Monitoring Tool. Both Excel and Google versions of the data tools will be covered in this workshop! Event has been postponed until a future date in Spring 2021.
This workshop takes place over 2 days and is designed primarily for School Leadership Teams to develop a written action plan for establishing Tier II of RTI2-Behavior at their schools. During this workshop, School Leadership Teams will be exposed to content and will have structured time to develop their action plans to guide implementation by an entire school staff. To make the most efficient use of workshop time, a full School Leadership Team needs to attend this workshop together.
Tier II addresses the needs of students struggling with behavioral or social-emotional skills despite receiving strong Tier I supports including school climate, a comprehensive school counseling program, and effective classroom management. Tier II interventions are provided in addition to the Tier I supports in place for all students in the school. Interventions at Tier II are typically systematic, evidence-based interventions that target students’ identified behavior or social /emotional areas of deficit (e.g., self-management, coping, and organization). These interventions should be efficient, easily accessible for students, provided as soon as possible upon identification that the student is at risk or struggling, and often times, implemented among small groups of students who exhibit similar behavior concerns. One goal of Tier II interventions is to address student needs and teach socially successful behaviors before inappropriate behaviors create major concerns and the need for more intensive intervention. In turn, this promotes a positive school climate where students are identified as needing additional support earlier and are taught self-monitoring and other socially successful behaviors necessary to succeed in school.
Each School Leadership Team should consist of no fewer than three and no more than eight school staff (i.e., 3-8 school staff). Your School Leadership Team should include at least one administrator (e.g., Principal). It is difficult for only one or two teachers to make decisions that will affect the entire school; please send appropriate representation for your school to ensure efficient use of your time.
We ask that you limit your team to eight school staff for the workshop so that we will have space for numerous school teams to attend.
Typically, schools will have their Tier I behavior team trained in Tier II. However, a school has the option of having a separate Tier I team and Tier II team. Please make sure that your team has already attended our Tier I Workshop before registering.
District-level support is crucial for sustained implementation. This training is appropriate for members of District Leadership Teams who will plan for and support implementation of RTI2-B in their district and schools. It is ideal when members of District Leadership Teams can attend this workshop alongside one or more School Leadership Teams from their district.
District Leadership Teams may include the following: a district team leader, leaders who will serve as external coaches to School Leadership Teams, departmental directors/supervisors, educational staff representatives, specialist representatives, and/or school leaders. District leaders who attend with a team can earn 14 hours of TASL credit for the 4-day workshop.
We encourage district and school administrators to discuss a plan for identifying school and district leaders who will attend this workshop.
